Hello Friends,

Belgian Linen Pocket Square with two rows of traditional Thai stars with dark navy blue thread. Ordered by Douglas from Niagara on the Lake in Canada.
Belgium, Northern France and the Netherlands grow the best flax which is turned into linen. In the past Ireland was famous for growing flax but currently there is very little flax produced in Ireland, where they use both the high quality flax from Western Europe and a lower quality from Eastern Europe. So it pays to ask the linen maker where their linen comes from.
The textile variety of Linum sitatissimum is used, not the culinary variety. Textile varieties have longer stems and more fiber.
Libeco-Lagae has woven linen since 1858 in Belgium and weaves our linen for us.
The month of August has been a very busy one for us, with lots of new international tariff changes. Our customers have requested us to add a Post Office shipping service called ePacket Plus which we have started using for Canada and the USA.
ePacket Plus does not require a signature as registered mail and DHL do. Tracking will be available on the Thai Post Office website and the Post Office website of your country. ePacket Plus will take a couple of weeks on average to reach you.
More fun is the news that we are going to finally start selling knit ties. I started to think about this many years ago; and 6 years ago I made friends with Barbara after she returned from a trip to Mongolia to source cashmere. She is a manager in the family that owns and runs the Ascot Tie company in Germany. They are famous as knitters of the luxurious "crunchy" knit ties.
At first, our knit ties will be made of silk and later wool. Perhaps cashmere, cotton and linen down the road...
