Hello Friends,

A beautiful Thai shot silk.

September was a month for farming and planning.

For generations we grew mulberrywood trees so we could feed silk worms their leaves and make our silk. Over time we became very busy making ties and slowly phased out our silk farming.

Now I am very much in the mood to return to our roots. We had a project many years ago, that some of you may remember to grow our own madder
roots so we could make natural madder dyed ties. Something that has not been done for around a 100 years.

We moved our workshop several times over the years and we never reached commercial production amounts of madder. We have been settled in for more than 10 years at our current workshop which includes an orchard and a farm. Now is a good time to start again to grow madder roots - let's see what happens - I will keep you posted.
