First, I really like these new BBC Italian jacquard silks, we have 9 more designs this month. The drape is very nice and the colors work well with the design.
A long time ago my father told me that the same design with a new set of colors is basically a completely new design - I agree.
He also was a big proponent of shopping step by step to create your own style. My father had lots of ideas about the fashion world... He was in the private label business and did well - interestingly, occasionally some of the women's clothes that he made under the Mark Hober or David Hober labels 60 years ago turn up on eBay under the Vintage category. I keep meaning to find a Mark Hober sweater for Sam Hober (Samantha my daughter). The challenge is that Sam is very thin so I need to find a very small size.
It's OK to get some advice from a sales person or your spouse or a fashion writer but in the end it is best to shop slowly and see what you like and what works best for you on your own.
Richard a friend in Scottsdale and I recently exchanged emails on the subject of website shopping advice. After some discussion we decided that the men who visit my website tend to know exactly what they are looking for: color, texture & pattern etc..
On the other hand sometimes I advise on measurements and encounter resistance to change - which is usually OK - as long as there is an idea behind the measurements.
We do have recent graduates going for their first professional job and I help them - but I still mainly guide them to their first thoughts and ideas - because those are usually the best.
